Big Panda and the tiny Dragon

Big Panda and tiny Dragon

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about how going into this year many people referred to 2020 as their year of 2020 vision’ In my opinion, that’s exactly what 2020 was. It was the year we finally started to see many things more clearly on both a societal as well as an individual level. This allowed us to see how so many of the things that we’ve been socialized to believe are just the way things are’ don’t necessarily have to be that way and can be replaced with a better way of doing things that actually serves the best interests of us all. Since we couldn’t go outside with as much ease as we could before, we were given the opportunity to go deeper within ourselves in order to take stock of our lives and to finally identify what does and does not serve us. As painful as this may have been, it allowed us to release what no longer serves us in order to make space for what actually does. That’s why in my book 2020 was not a wasted year; it was a foundational year that opened our eyes to the reality of our world and our lives so that we could intentionally create healthier social systems and personal lives.

Now as the seasons have changed once more and we move into the start of a new year “2021”, I hope that we take with us the ability to regularly identify and unlearn the things that no longer serve us. Because just as the change of the seasons are nature’s way of reminding us how beautiful letting go can be, the challenges of our lives are ultimately here to help us level up and make the most of what actually matters
